I am looking to buy a new computer and would like to get some custom cables to improve the aesthetics of the build, but don't know which cables to get as i have never ordered any before.

i would rather get a full set of cables, i have also looked at the sets that are on sites like cable mod, but it has other cable that i wouldn't need in them, as well as being expensive.

If your going for a full set, it will have every cable that came with the psu but sleeved.. the extensions are good if you can manage all the excess behind the tray or in drive-bay or whatever and are on a budget. Also has the added benefit of fitting any standard PSU.

Your shout. Google is your friend for finding alternate sources.

You can get the basic kits as they will have the main cables you will see in the system without some of the extras:

Would anyone happen to know what power connectors the GTX 1080's use?

They use regular PCI-E, it depends on what GPU you have as most have a single 8 pin PCI-E while some aftermarket ones have more.

I was planning on getting an Asus Strix 1080

Looks like it uses a 6pin and a 8pin power connectors:

would i get 2 separate 6 and 8 pin cables or  one cable with separate connectors?

You can either have it daisy chained or two separate cables, as the card itself isn't super power hungry.
