What motherboard should I get?

Go to solution Solved by Cela1,

Fitting your description:

(You may also want to include cheaper mobos)

I just wanted to know what motherboard would be good to buy? I'm looking for anything that is $200 - $300. Thanks!

*rubs his temples*

What kind of CPU were you looking at? You need to decide that first, then look for a compatible motherboard.

I won't know you're talking to me unless you reply/quote me.

I'm going to be using this for gaming, and a intel socket is preferred.

*facepalm*

Which Intel socket. Do you have a CPU in mind?

There are a lot of intel sockets.

You're going about building your system backwards.

You need to find a specific CPU first.

The bit that the CPU goes into. Please go watch some videos over on youtube and then ask again.

Never mind that last post, missed part of your post, and a 6700k

So, you are planning to overclock? And are you doing anything else rather than gaming?

Ok, so what about a motherboard?

Well if you are overclocking, then you should look for a mobo with a Z170 chipset. Are you getting a Full ATX case or a smaller one?

Thanks a lot! Especially for your patience with a noob.

No problem :P

Also, don't forget your CPU doesn't come with a stock heatsink so be sure to pick one up (It's funny when that happens).
