windows 7 key for windows 10

It used to work, but as of July 29th the free upgrade period ended. So it will not longer work.

If you get the Home edition of Windows 10, you're going to have to deal with more inconveniences, like not being able to turn off automatic updates, and not being able to disable windows defender and all its invasive messages. Better to get Windows 10 Pro, or just get Windows 7, which is very easily arguably a better OS, overall.

There were threads though about people still able to get the upgrade for free? not sure what happened with that though
