Friend's PC around $250?

dave909904

So, I am building a friend's system and need some help choosing parts. If you can't find a GPU, I can give him a Radeon HD 7350, no OS needed, Quad Core CPU, Intel or AMD, preferably reasonably modern for upgradability reasons. We are hoping to meet the minimum specs for No Man's Sky.

I3-6100 is prob best cpu unless if you wanna buy used. Skylake is the best for upgradability atm.

Unsure what power supply to pick?

Check out my HTPC build.

Quote me/others so we can help you

a 860k and FM2+ motherboard with A88X chipset is near $100-$120. $30 for a cheap case and $50 for 500 gb hardrive so $300 there and maybe $30 for a alright 500W PSU. message me for links if you need recommendation for Motheboard and others

Why not buy a used PS4?

It will do better than any $250 all-new computer on no man's sky

Not to mention the PC port isn't well optimized.

He's going to be using it for more than gaming. Especially word processing, which consoles universally suck at.

but...but...keyboard and mice plus steam so cheaper game prices and backward compatibility and PC master race...and everything else...

But in fairness that's a good point as better gaming performance will come from the console...

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Yes I almost didn't believe I wrote those words with these hands.

But I have no allegiance, if a PS4 is the best for someone, I will call that out.

Now the bad news is, that 7350 won't hit the minimum spec I don't think.

@Energycore Well US pricing can't be that bad that he can't even get a 460/560 or something for like $20 right? Right? UK used prices actually seems decent...which is a first for prices on products...
