My Sandy Bridge motherboard went rigor mortis on me so looking at a $1500 build. My intent is for it to doing gaming, productivity and media consumption on it at 2,560 x 1,440.

I would get a 6700k as a i5 6600k bottlenecks the GTX 1070 (on 1440p if stock it bottlenecks for sure,if OC'ed to 4.5 the bottleneck would be marginal depends on game)

Looks good, though I'd favor a cheaper motherboard for an i7.

Swapped the I5 to an I7. Got a decent motherboard (same one I own) Its one of the best motherboards for the features and price. Changed ram to match color scheme.

Manged to fit a 750gb SSD in there if you want the extra storage. And I personally like the look of the H440 is also a fantastic case.
