This is the config I am looking at going with, The system will mainly be gaming (1440p) and hi-res photo editing. I am pretty set on it but open to opinion's and options. . . especially the monitor as I am still not 100% on that.

I plan on staying with X99, prefer having extra lanes for upgrades in the future.

Unless you are going with 3 way (which you can't unless you have a enthusiast key and are welling to deal with the old connector) or need many PCI SSDs you probably don't need extra lanes.

For the price factor? Better overclocking? Open to reasoning.

More lanes?? You need more lanes?

Triple and 4 way SLI is being phased out, so no, you do not need more lanes.

It's not, but it is the thing that needs the most PCIe bandwidth.

PCIe SSDs, sound cards, network cards, they are almost always 1-4x only.
