So I will make a new system this year, because I need more power for 3D work and games.

Specs:

Case: Thermaltake core P5

CPU: 6850k

Motherboard: Most likely MSI X99A Tomahawk

Ram: G.Skill TridentZ DDR4 3200MHz 32gb (black and white)

PSU: AX860i (if it has enough watt for what I want to do)

Harddrive: 500gb 850 Evo, 2TB HDD seagate 128mb cache (for things I wont use that often) and maybe a 950pro

CPU cooler: most likely EKWB EK-XLC PREDATOR 360

GPU(for now atleast): 1070 or some vega GPU, I will go SLI or CF with Navi or Volta and not now, mainly because the cards that are out right now is meh IMO.

Is there something you would change?

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Feel free to pm me if you have a question for me or quote me. If you want to hear what I have to say about something just tag me.

G Skill 3200 at what latencies?

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. CL 16-18-18-38, but I plan to get that down to CL 14 with maybe some help from @MageTank if he wants to help me :D

I'll do whatever I can to help.

16-18-18 is the "X99 kit" Slightly worse latencies than the "Z170" 16-16-16 kit but quad channel bandwidth makes the difference imo.

tuning it down to 14 would be fantastic though.

Well if I didn't live in Denmark I would be able to get them with CL 15-15-15

Depends if the IMC is up to it though.

Primaries won't be that big of a deal for the IMC. I am more worried about the IMC's tolerance with the tertiary timings. If Broadwell-E is anything like Haswell-E, then we are in for a world of hurt.

I can get a metal and white version also that is CL14 stock, but black and white is just so neat

CL 16 http://gskill.com/en/product/f4-3200c16q-32gtzkw

The C14 ones are clearly Samsung B-Die. The C16 ones look like Samsung D or E. Both kits are single rank, meaning no Rank Interleaving. Just looked into Broadwell-E's IMC, and it appears to be very solid, so overclocking should be fine. Just remember, quad channel will double max theoretical bandwidth, but efficiency will go down. My ram is 94% efficient, meaning i hit 94% of my max theoretical bandwidth in aida64's memory bandwidth test. As you add more channels, this efficiency drops, meaning will hit a lower % of your max theoretical bandwidth. This isn't that big of an issue, since 70% efficiency in quad channel is still better than 90% efficiency in dual channel. I only say this because I don't want you to see a max theoretical bandwidth of 102,400MB/s, and  feel disappointed when you only see 70,000MB/s-80,000MB/s. If the IMC is indeed as good as people say it is, then we should be able to achieve high efficiency with tertiary timings. Just be ready for a nightmare of memory stress tests, lol. Behold, the power of Samsung B-Die!

wow thanks :) And god damn those numbers :D

The main reason why I want the trident Z is because they look really nice and I have heard good things about them, I know that above 2666MHz you don't really start seing much of a improvement in games and such, but trident z is really only 3200MHz.

I am used to testing things often, this PC will be nr. 24 I build and I always stress test every single part in the system before giving it to the person who bought it
