Upgrading my CPU

Hello everyone. I was wondering if upgrading my CPU to an i7 skylake ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117559&cm_re=i7-_-19-117-559-_-Product ) would help with productivity and speeds while editing and rendering videos that I make. I'm also looking at upgrading my GPU or possibly doing a dual GPU. Any suggestions on what to buy to increase performance/graphics?

It probably won't make a big difference. Its normally around a 20-30% jump in 3d rendering and video editing.

Uh... it would help, but I don't think it'll be THAT much of an improvement to justify the cost. If I was in your shoes, I'd hold tight a bit longer and wait for the launch of the KAby i7 before upgrading, which shouldn't be that far away.

 

As for the GPU, I'd sell the 390 and upgrade into either a 980ti or 1070. Preferably the 980ti if you can find a used one for much cheaper than a 1070.

It would make difference but not that much. If you can sell that i5 for really good price then i would recommend upgrading.

To upgrade the GPU I would wait until Vega arrives early next year. That's the only way you'll have a justifiable performance boost between cards in my mind.
