hello there, i used teamviewer on an iphone to write this so its not gonna be very well written. anyways, i have a few questions about folding for evga's team. 1. Do i need to have an evga card? 2. If I earn enough bucks to buy a gpu are there any hidden expenses? Can i buy a card with bucks only? And where would i go to do that. Thanks in advance, sorry about this post being so short.

Outside of the highlighted part, everything else is explained in the FAQ. Read it and you shall find your answers there: http://www.evga.com/folding/promo.asp

You can pay the entire card with bucks, yes. However, shipping (and taxes) are still on you, those can't be paid with EVGA bucks.

You don't have to be in the US, but they only ship to US, CA, MEX and Puerto Rico. So you'd have to use a 3rd party service that receives packages and re-ships them to you.

Do you know any companies that can do that? Any ones you would recommend?

I know a few that do it for my country. Pretty sure they work for Brazil only, though :P

It's all right then, not sure whether folding for that team is really worth it though. I mean 1 750ti ssc in a year for 3 mil a month doesn't seem like it would really help me out. Not even as much as curecoin would. Heck, in a month I could buy at least one 750ti ssc thanks to my part time job, it's just that I always end up spending money on bigger and better parts and forget about my 980 that's being tortured everyday (folding). I guess I'll just have to make myself a promise that after I buy a new i7 6700k I will buy a 750ti ssc (or sc not sure which one it is, I'll check the evga store. They are efficient as hell).

Er... not as much as one would think. If the report is accurate, the 1060 seems to be the new efficiency king:

CPU folding is not really worth it in my opinion because it wont make many PPD (maybe 30k.) compared to a decent graphics card. I fold only with my gtx 1070 and it makes ~625.000 points on average.

And I assume you are using your CPU for something else (say, a Boinc project), no?

Such waste of processing power... I bet you could crunch with one or two cores, tough, the change shouldn't be noticeable.
