I just thought there should be a place on this forum for astronomy enthusiasts, ranging from beginners with no telescopes to life long pros, to hang out and talk about space and our telescopes. What telescope and or camera do you use to view the night sky? Also feel free to share pictures of your equipment or night sky pictures you've taken.

 

I use a 10" dobsonian (XT10I) and a Canon T5 camera.

Space is pretty awesome.

I got a free motorized telescope from the dumpster. I just replaced the little broken motor gear and it is like new. I usually use a Cannon 7D Mark II with a 1000mm lens. I have gotten some great pics of the moons surface.

Do you live in an urban city or the suburbs? If you live in the suburbs they have light pollution filters that work pretty well. Here's the one I got.

According to some amazon reviews even with a bunch of light pollution you can see fainter nebula liek the Crab Nebula. If you don't want to risk it though, I don't blame you. If you want you can follow here and I'll be posting pictures I get (assuming this thread doesn't get too old and dead)
