Is this a good deal?

Is an i7-3820 and a GIGABYTE GA-X79-UP4 for $300 all together worth it to replace my FX 8320E and MSI 990? I'll be pairing it with 16GBs of DDR3 and a GTX 1070.

Seems pretty solid if you OC that CPU a bit. What are you going to do with your 8320E and 990?

Very good deal,a i7 3820 is still a really good CPU,and branded x79 boards are super expensive ($200-$300 by ebay prices)

That's a good deal and a big-ass upgrade.

It's worth the money and you can always sell the stuff you no longer need for a nice price :)

Assuming it all works, that's a great deal.
