You can't overclock your cpu with that mobo, and that cpu is overkill, and your graphics card is to weak. I would get an i5 6400, and rx 480 graphics card. Also, for gaming, you DON'T need more than 8gb's of ram.

Overclocking on that board won't get you very far.. Either get a Z board or get a non k cpu. Guessing this is for application based pc with side gaming?

Do you have a PCPartPicker link for this? I'm curious what this totals out to price wise. If budget is any concern, I feel like you likely won't need 16GB of RAM and that 8GB will do you fine unless you're doing a ton of multi-tasking.

Also, I'm unsure the price of the 2TB HDD, but could you perhaps grab a small SSD and a 1TB HDD for the same price? An SSD will greatly improve your overall experience with a computer.

You've picked an H110 motherboard and no extra CPU cooler, so I would recommend you get just a normal i5-6600 since your build is looking somewhat budget oriented. Switching that would also free up some $$$ to put towards an SSD or a GPU upgrade.

If you wanted to OC or OC down the line I'd recommend a Z170 board and an aftermarket CPU cooler, I don't know if you CAN even OC on an H110 board, and if you could, it wouldn't be as good as with a nicer motherboard.

What is your budget? I can help you adjust that build to get the best performance for your money (and also aesthetics if you care about that).

MSI GE72 Apache Pro-242 - (5700HQ : 970M : 16gb RAM : 17.3" : Win10 : 1TB HDD : Razer Anansi : Some mouse) - hooked up to a 34UM58-P (WFHD) in dual screen

iPad Air 2 (for school)

iPhone 6

Xbox One Forza 6 Limited Edition Blue

Are you serious? My gaming computer is worse than that in every aspect (OK, I have an SSD, but irrelevant) and I play Metro on the highest settings no problem. Minecraft will run well pretty much in a toaster

Yes, it is overkill for vanilla minecraft, but some modpacks these days with 300+ mods can take a lot to run, I'd say those specs are perfect for even the biggest of modpacks.
