Dedicated GPU Graphics Increase possible?

DeathBladeRSX
Go to solution Solved by Wiflare,

That is not possible, sorry.
Would you like help finding a new graphics card, or new system altogether?

@DeathBladeRSX

Hi,

I am only new to all this so I am going to get straight to the point.
I have 2 1GB DDR2 sticks of RAM and an old NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT 256MB, is it possible to install the RAM from the sticks on to GPU or not.

Please, I don't want any replies saying buy a better graphics card or anything as I am already looking into better graphics cards but I am asking as a temporary fix till I have the money for a better card.

System Specs:

Intel Core i7-6700, Gigabyte GA-Z170-D3H (Rev 1.0), Gigabyte GeForce GTX 950, Crucial 16GB DDR4 Kit (2x8GB) @ 2133MHz, Thermaletake TR 2 S 450W PSU, Intel 600p Series M.2 PCIe x4 256GB SSD, Toshiba 2.5" 300GB HDD, Seagate 3.5" 80GB HDD, Windows 10 Pro x64

The answers no. The only things you can change about a graphics card are the clock/memory speeds and the cooler. These wouldn't help you in your VRAM situation.

Nope. Do you not have integrated graphics?

I did but once I installed the graphics card it removed the integrated graphics. I originally had GMA 3100 Intel Bearlake Graphics (Intel Q35 Express Chipset)

If you'd had a Matrox G200/Mystique, it had upgradeable RAM. :)

(On mobile, Idk how to properly format it.  If only LTT forum allowed me to edit the raw HTML/UBB code in my post...)

Matrox G100/G200

...

Fun Fact: Ever wish you could upgrade your videocard's memory? With the Mystique, you could, thanks to a handy SODIMM slot integrated right on the card!
