10 dollars more than the MSI 970 one

THe Asus one is way better then the Msi 970 in every single way.

If you are currious of what the Asus 970 Pro gaming / Aura is capable of.

You can read the follow.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1591829/fx-8370-and-pro-gaming-aura-asus-mb-overclocking

Of course you wont reach such kind of overclocks under normal circumstances

But it does shows the quality of the board.:)

Need a good mother board for an 8350

(Also dont tell me to get some other CPU)

EDIT: Something with an M.2 slot

OP, whyat's your budget? This motherboard is the cheapest you can get to overclock, but maybe the budget is a little higher so we can choose something better.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White

Both MSI and Gigabyte put out new 990fx chipset boards in 2015. I own the 990fxa gaming, and my friend has the step down the 970 gaming. Both great boards, sadly i didnt get to use it very long as im moving to skylake, but its been a trooper the last 6 months. They are both as feature modern as you can get with the am3+ platform, and the msi board was 130ish cad.

Here are two good choices:
http://pcpartpicker.com/product/mNfp99/asrock-motherboard-990fxkiller

I owned this board, looks great, has tons of features and isn't expensive. Had my 8350 at 4,5gHz 24/7.

http://pcpartpicker.com/product/mC648d/gigabyte-motherboard-ga990fxgaming

Looks to be decent as well, Gigabyte knows how to design power delivery systems for AM3+.

If I were you I'd choose the better looking one or the one with the features that you want. Both should be great.

I have an fx6300 and the Asus M5A97 R2.0 seems pretty good and cheap, but it doesn't look like a gaming board if you want aesthetics.

I edit my posts a lot.

Good board as well, though keep in mind that people consider AsRock as the budget board market. I happen to like them very much but some would say otherwise.

overpriced for todays features.

Best board would be the Gigabyte 990FX GAMING and ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R3. These have the latest features, including M.2 Socket 3 "M" key 20GB/s PCIe Gen2 x4,  USB 3.1 10GB/s Type A and C, and reinforced PCIe slots.

Sabertooth are more or less one of the best boards you can get quality wise. I have the old R2 (green/brown/black one) that is rock stable no matter how hard i try to push it. Only the CPU is limiting that board in terms of OC.

EDIT: Something with an M.2 slot

If M.2 is required, your choice set for is quite limited in the AM3+ platform. I'd say mostly to ASRock boards, but perhaps the latest gaming boards from Asus/MSI/Gigabyte have added it as well. If you plan to do some heavy overclocking, I'd say your best choice is the 990FX Extreme6. AFAIK, all other renowned OC AM3+ motherboards lack M.2 connectors.

On the other hand, if you plan to run at stocks or only mildly overclock, you may as well consider the 970 and 990 Fatal1ty boards, or the competing Gigabyte gaming boards. The Asus 970 Aura also has an M.2 slot.

Hence, depending on the chipset you want, you have something like 3 (990FX) - 6 (970) mobos to choose from. Things like how many GPUs you plan on using may factor in at this point.

Personally, I have experience with the ASRock 970 Fatal1ty. It's pretty decent, runs RAM at 2400Hz, and allows for dome overclocking, although it's a bit harder and less precise at that than Asus' OC boards (e.g., 990FX Sabertooth). Just a warning: despite the advertised 220W compatibility, something like an FX-9370 will fry the VRM at stock values. The good news is that stock voltages are usually higher than needed, so you can get away with it after some undervolting (this also means that you can may the FX-8350 to 4.4GHz on this board, provided you don't need 1.45 vcore or so).

Still, if you could get a 990FX Extreme6 within your budget I'd go with that.

PS: I've just read Prysin saying there's a Sabertooth R3, which I wasn't aware of. Given the quality of the R2, this sounds like "the" motherboard to get - if it's not far from your budget.

I see 5 options with m.2 slot, just make sure it has 6+2 VRM minimum! :)

The Asus 970 Pro gaming / Aura is the best 970 chipset board out there.

This particular board feutures a 7+1 true phase fully digital powerphase design.

This board will be more then capable to overclock your FX8350 to whatever the chip is capable off.

Its even better then manny of the 990FX boards.

The Asus 970 pro gaming Aura is probably the most expensive 970 board i suppose?

It also the best 970 board.

Anyway Asus also recently announced a new 990Fx Sabertooth R3.0.

That is also realy a sollid board, but idk if its allready out for sale or not.
