Fixed CPU pins, but now CPU temps are high?

So if you read my previous post, I was having trouble with some ram slots. I checked the motherboard PINS and they were crooked.

I fixed them, or at least tried to. At first no luck, tried again, still no post.

Tried a third time and voila!

I get into BIOS but oh no! CPU RUNNING AT 90 DEGREES AHH

What should I do? What happened?

Did the board come like this? Like, with the broken pins (if you bought it brand new).

What cooler do you have too? If you have a water cooler, make sure the cooler is plugged in.

Give it new paste and try again?

Check if the cooler is working.

Hmm... even without paste i dont see how it can be at 90 degrees

I'd take it back into them, and tell them your issues, because if the board came like that, not detecting the RAM, then it's a manufacturing fault.

Heat accumulates and if it has nowhere to go, it will eventually hit 90

Alright, well since alot of paste got onto my hands and onto the plastic I set the CPU on when I was fixing the pins, the paste was coming off but not all of it. It did dry up a bit too. Apply more?

I brought it today and they said since the pins are bent there is nothing they can do. Still, I am only using two of the four slots so it doesn't matter.

How about your fan speeds? What are your fan speeds doing?

If the fan speed matches the depicted temp, then we can be sure the temp is probably more or less accurate.

If it's reading 90c, and the fans are hardly spinning, then it's probably not actually 90c, but there's some issue reporting the temperature.

This seems like a common issue when pins become bent.

Really? I'll check this out. EDIT: What fan speeds should indicate that the CPU is indeed hot, or not hot?
