You can go for Gigabyte's 990 series boards if you want a black / grey motherboard for your system. Else, you can look through Asus' stuff (either RoG or their mainstream for the blue colour scheme).

how come you are wanting a amd board and cpu when you have a 4670K? the best am3+ boards are the gigabyte ud7 and the asus crosshair v formula. a ud5 or m5a99x pro are still good with an 8 core though.

An FX-8350 is not a APU, its a CPU using the socket AM3+ a good motherboard that i can suggest would be the ASUS M5A99FX Pro Rev 2.0 because of its overclocking capabilities and other neat features that comes with the board.

  • 2 weeks later...

Do not get fx8350 with gigabyte ud3. Go with MSI/ASUS/ASROCK.

Why?

gigabyte ud3 has issues with vishera chips. It's a much safer bet to go with the other brands on this one.

Hmm, I haven't heard of this.

Hmm, I haven't heard of this.

multiple cases of peoples ud3 990fxa throttling vishera cpus. Sometimes it can be fixed with better vrm cooling or enabling hpc, but some people haven't been too lucky.

I can't speak for rev 4.0 of the board, but rev 3.0 is no good. I have rev 1.1 and will be getting an 8320, so I'm a little worried. (can't afford a new mobo)

Get a UD5 if you want gigabyte and 8350.
