Perfect GPU for the FX-8320?

Go to solution Solved by chaozbandit,

A 7950 / 7970 since they're dropping in price or get yourself a R9 280X if you have a bit more room in your budget.

Hello tech savvy friends.

I'm upgrading my PC this year to get a new processor from the FX-6100 to the FX-8320

(Or something better for a similar price)

My question to you is what GPU wont bottleneck my system? And the reason for upgrading is because I can only get 30FPS (with major lag spikes every 2 or 3 minutes) in the BF4 Beta.

I play BF3/4, TF2, CS:GO and more.

Thanks.

Any GPU will work with 8320. It's a very fast CPU.

the FX 8320 can run probably all the GPUs with out bottleneck, it is one of the best CPUs I would wait until October 13 or 15 to get the R9 280x for $300

If you have the money, why not go for a 290x? I'm gonna be upgrading to a 8320 myself and I will probably be getting a 280x.

Thanks for the comments guys and gals. I'm probably going to get a 7970 or something similar I don't think my budget will stretch to the R9 series.

What GPU are you using right now?

There is a problem with the bf4 beta where you get a ton of lag spikes and only 30fps.

I fixed the lag spikes by downloading the beta driver for my gpu and it worked.

A R9 280x is $300 dollars and the 7970 is around that price too, why not get more for you money?

300 dollars equal 221.29 Euro

if everything you're playing right now is running as you want it to run (aside from BF4 which is beta with known performance issues) why upgrade the gpu at all?

i'd wait till BF4 is finished and released and see how ur pc (with the new 8320 or w/e you buy in it) performs on those games and then see what to upgrade next.

I have no signature

I haven't followed Powercolor's line of product lately so I can't offer an opinion on it. You can always check the benchmarks and see how it performs against other cards. Personally I'd go with something from Sapphire or Gigabyte for their coolers but I'm not sure what your budget is.

I plan on upgrading to an FX8320 / ASUS 7970 DCUII soon so I'm in the same boat as you are.
