Try reinstalling any drivers/software. Then maybe I'd guess that the card is dead. I'm unsure how to diagnose a well and truly dead sound card as so many things could be wrong :(

Have you tried using third party drivers such as Uni? The Asus drivers suck ass..

Have you tried installing the UNI driver. The Asus drivers aren't the best. http://maxedtech.com/asus-xonar-unified-drivers/

I grew up in Asia. It would be disappointing if I hadn't learned any ninja tricks.

Nope still syas cannot find device

Try reseating the card. Maybe try another PCIe slot. Also uninstall all drivers associated with the card

Don't just reseat the card, put it in another PCI slot. Happened to me with my xonar dgx and gd65-z77 turns out was the motherboard. Either that PCI lane was dead or was deactivated due to its bandwidth being used by another occupied lane.

I would always get "cannot find device" during the driver install.
