If you have the extra ~$10-$20 I'd get the 4690 if you aren't overclocking. I'd also go with the RX 480 or a GTX 970 for the GPU if I was you.

Any CPU is gaming. an i5 is good, 4th gen is not that old. and 3.4Ghz will satisfy game requirements.

Yeah it works perfectly fine for gaming. It is a quad core processor at 3.5Ghz plus turbo boost. It isn't overclockable though.

Yeah everything is fine.

Sure you could go for new generation. Or K version of CPU and Z version of motherboard, SSD, better GPU etc.

But if you can't get that in your budget, just leave it as it is :)

Moved to new build planning

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.
