I was picturing something like a Corsair carbide air 540 - but smaller and with less grills in the front.

Well I've seen the Piston version of the Steam Box as shown above so perhaps many sleek, little devices like those that look very natural in a living room environment.

I think it will look like a console, who on earth wants a big PC case next to their TV (well i do).

I think you're confusing it with the Ouya, at first everyone thought this would be the first steambox, but when it turned out to be shit, Valve immediatly said that they had nothing to do with it.
