Some people actually are (I can walk+read+talk to some one at the same time without running into anything-peripheral vision doesn't require much concentration). But from what I've seen with Pokemon go, people that can multi task effectively are a very small minority-seen loads of people playing Pokemon Go walk into others and objects.
