i've used computers in worse places than beds, and i have two things to say to you:

1: if anything electrocution worthy comes in contact with anything touchable, you need a new power supply this very instance.

2: you should burn your house down if you dont have grounded outlets, because otherwise its a matter of time before an appliance does that for you.

thats not electrocution, and its actually more likely to happen in your bed when you're not hugging a computer ;)

as i said it, google it. now that you have stated you have used computers in "worst places than bed" you Really need to dig deep into it.

You should not have the computer ON when Clearing the CMOS. Read the included instructions carefully.

I agree with most of the suggestions already posted, reset the CMOS (see above post).

 

Like stated before, pull everything out of the computer case, plug the minimum (motherboard, CPU and only 1 stick of RAM ... so no GPU or drives), try from there and also try the other RAM stick AND RAM slot on the motherboard.
