Gtx970 or Rx 480

I am planning get a new GPU at end of the July. My budget is around 200$. Should I get a gtx 970 or rx 480. Will the 4gb vram good enough for 2016 new game title.

For 1080p gaming, 4GB ram is plenty.

 

What about GTX 1060? Out of your budget?

The 480 will last longer as it can handle DX12. I'd also get the 8GB version if you can, it's better to have and not need it than need it it and not have it. Especially useful if you like mods for your games, they can be really VRAM hungry.

Just wait for the 1060 benchmarks and decide between that and aib 480. Also no point in choosing one over another becouse it supports dx12 better atm, nvidia will start to optimize dx12 for its drivers when it actually comes more mainstream.

Rx 480 and slap an Arctic Accelero Mono plus on it. If you get the 4gb Version, it is still cheaper than a 970 or similar and is very quiet and cool and has actual 4 GB vram. I know in most games it is not an issue, but i would want something that works all of the time and not some of the time. 

Also: doom+480+ Vulkan = insane performance. I used to play on high to get 75fps, now I play on ultra and get more like 85-90. It's great.

Wait till 3rd party coolers come out for the Rx 480
