Need a Gaming GPU

Hello, I have recently built my own gaming rig.

It has an AMD A-6 7400k in it I was wondering if it matters if i put an NVIDIA card in it and if it effects performance compared to a similar AMD card. Thanks!

this shouldn't have any effects, other than some games which are better optimized for Nvidea cards, or vice versa.

What power supply? What games do you play? What settings and resolution do you want to run these at?

Some Nvidia cards are better than Amd. Some Amd cards are better than Nvidia. Find a card that can run the games you want, and whether it's an Nvidia or Amd card is your choice, though Amd has some exclusives that Nvidia doesn't have, and visa versa.

With specs as bad as these, damn near any graphics card would vastly improve your rig. 

It doesn't matter at all for you. Pick whichever you wish.

so really there is no performance decrease if i use a nvidia card with an amd cpu

On the contrary because Nvidia has less API overhead they tend to perform better with old CPUs like yours better in DX11 games.
