lol. its only because i have re installed it about 6 times :P

cl9 @2400 is very nice

its too warm :/ +3c here.

also any ideas on the max pch voltage for z77 without killing it. i got my 2133mhz almost stable at just under 1.2v it wouldn't boot 2133 with 1.05v

no idea jumpy.

i usually left that at auto but i never had faster than 1600mhz memories back in those days.

maybe at @runit3 can help but i see he is using the slowest memory kit \ stick out there or couldnt be bother to jack dem frequencies up lol

If that's the P8Z77V-LX then it is the VRM. It was pretty poor.

Not the VRM. BSOD 124

I attached heatsinks to the VRM's and the 2 I couldn't reach are under my XSPC block...and I'm missing one pin on the socket.

It's crap RAM I had lying around from another decommissioned i5 build. Trident X 2400's will be put on order when I find a replacement board for this one.

My PCH is @1.2v, I'll throw the dual core back in once I've updated Windows and kill the board. What voltage increments do you want?

It's manual key-in, don't think there's a hard set max, might be 2.0v. I'll start at a healthy 1.5v and work my way up until a cap explodes off the board into my face :D

If only I had my P5K posting, maybe this time I'd have it catch fire (it survived near 3 misses-though I had to ghetto the VRM off older motherboards :P )

@ProKoN well turns out there is a hardcap on the P8Z77, 1.685v. Been running XTU for 15 minutes now and it's still holdin up. Guess I'll just leave it and when I smell burning cardboard it's done

I left them on. Board just wouldn't die. Straight back to ebay with it, along with the Pentium, and that horrible RAM kit.

Newegg sold out of the refurb ROG boards. I knew I should've bought one of those damn things 2 days ago.

Running Cinema 4D now, and so far on my Pentium III 667MHz things look, shall we say, very rough. And its not the FX5500 (or I hope so).

Edit: canceled the tests for now, I need 300MB of RAM so 256MB isn't doing the job.

Well here are the results of the socket repair and a proper 2550k. Something is up with the power delivery, or it's just a crap chip. Either way I think I'm going to purge with some cash for a refurb ROG off Newegg unless something magical pops up on Ebay.

attachicon.gif2550.JPG

if that is the chip, it must be the worst 2550k in existence or maybe your 1333mhz ram is making the score look really low

Holy bombaaaaa 5.2????? wow . about the crash during screen shot that happened to me many times . i think print screen button have some kind of huge script on the back its stable for 2 hours and just hit the button and here comes the blue screen .... :(

FTW i did ....i took this short after that and didn't took screen shot of that  . i'm a cinebench fanboy now . i need to run it again ..? don't tell me yes . coz i it 87C 3 times during test

its funny cos i think 5.2ghz is slow. :P i dont even open the temp monitor after 1.5v, much too scary. i know at 1.5v the hottest core was at 76c on my chip, but that was with one fan on my cooler. and my room at 10/11c. when i did that last run at 1.6v and 5.2ghz i had 3 fans on the cooler and it was 8/9c .

no idea jumpy.

i usually left that at auto but i never had faster than 1600mhz memories back in those days.

maybe at @runit3 can help but i see he is using the slowest memory kit \ stick out there or couldnt be bother to jack dem frequencies up lol

i'll do a bit of research into this before tonight and see what i can get it upto.

It was sub 63C @1.44v under load hooked up to my deconstructed temporary donor loop, with only 1 fan running. I have high hopes. The P8 BIOS was a little underwhelming compared to 1150 offerings, I missed my Q-fan.

yeah its slow :P Z97 chips are great for high speed ram. obviously it won't effect performance in games, but for benchmarks i would want something a bit faster.
