Hey guys

i got the Corsair H110i GT and the fans are really loud after 800 RPM.

I am considering replacing them with:

NOCTUA NF-A14 INDUSTRIALPPC-2000 140MM PWM

NOCTUA NF-A14 INDUSTRIALPPC-2000 IP67 140MM PWM

Whats the difference between the NOCTUA ones? One is IP67 and the other one isn't, the IP67 costs 39 euro, but it now sales at the same price as the non-ip67 one, 34 euro.

Also, for the case fans of my NZXT Noctis 450 i am considering replacing the stock fans, as they get a bit loud too, with those

BE QUIET! SILENT WINGS 2 PWM 140MM

What you guys think?

IP67 is a water resistance rating. For example if you were pulling off Linus's Whole room water cooling and put a radiator on your roof I'd buy the IP67's for their water resistance rating.

i bought these NOCTUA NF-A14 INDUSTRIALPPC-2000 IP67 140MM PWM fans via amazon. They will arrive tomorrow, i will using them with my h110i GTX.

Before they arrive i cant tell you if they are nice or not. But i will test em :D

IP67 describes the dust and water resistance standard level.

I think BeQuiet Silent wings2 are one of the best choices for "silent" case fans.

The Silent Wings 2 are amazing fans, but keep in mind that in August the new Silent Wings 3 will be released and it looks like it will be hands down the best PC case fan ever created.

Really? I will just wait then...

Any comment on the Noctuas? Will they be as loud as the stock H110i GT? those sound like a car engine after 1600 RPM and when at 700 RPM are very very noticable

I read that the Noctua NF-A14 IndustrialPPC-2000  are meant for airflow fans and not for static pressure ... is that true?

No,

NOCTUA NF-A14 INDUSTRIALPPC-2000 IP67 140MM PWM

static pressure: 4,18 mm H₂O

noise (max12v): 31,5 dB(A)

Okay my Noctua's arrived. In comparisson to the Stock Corsair fans, they are really insane.

They do need about 200-300RPM less to archieve the same cooling result and while at same RPM they do much less noise.

Until 800RPM they are completly inaudible. I cant hear them.

While gaming when it goes above the 40% you hear them without Headset.

@60% (1200rpm) they become loud, but still not as loud as stock fans. So with a fancurve that goes max to 40% in idle/browsing. You should be fine to enjoy inaudible fans.

I like them, will keep them. ;) Can recommend.

Although the NB eLoops seem to be very good too (max one is 1400RPM though i think)

what u think about those?

For the love of god don't get Noctuas, or at least not iPPC versions. I have a single 140mm and two 120mm of them in my system. So god damn loud, even at 700 RPM. I don't know why they are so loud at that RPM. I would suggest at looking at Fractal Design Venturi fans or Noiseblockers.

RAM: HyperX Fury 1600MHZ CL10 2x4GB      Storage: Samsung 850 EVO(250GB) + WD Red(2TB)      PSU: Corsair RM750 (and no, it hasn't blown up!)

Maybe you have the 3000rpm 140mm Noctua? i cant speak for 120mm fans but with my two 140mm i cant hear them <800 rpm while case is opened, door and windows closed. I would send em back if they would be loud, maybe youve got faulty fans. Your suggested fans are Airflow fans, not static pressure fans, of course they are more silent but they only grant about 25% of the static pressure of the noctua's.

I think NB eLoops are case fans, with very low static pressure. Not made for Radiators. If you would buy those you could also just stick Silent Wings2 on your AiO.

Or are they any SP NB eLoops?

I have the 2000RPM Noctuas, and you're right. They are not "noisy" at 700-800 RPM, but they are definitely audible, moreso than my Fractals running 1000RPM.

Also, the Venturi lineup also has some SP oriented fans, I don't know where you might get the idea of them not being SP from.

NB eLoops are specifically made for SP?

Well first, you have to choose 140mm fans from the NB eLoops. Because OP needs 140mm fans. NOT 120mm fans.

Which would you direct you to this:
http://www.blacknoise.com/site/en/products/noiseblocker-it-fans/nb-eloop-series/140x140x29mm.php

2nd from datasheed you can read the static pressure of the fans. Which looks like this:

NB-ELoop.jpg

The best FAN they've got delivers a maximum static Pressure of 1.570 mm H₂O  on full RPM. For me this does not count as an SP fan and its a 3Pin fan.

Same goes for the Venturi Series. As you can see here:

http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/casefans/venturi-series/venturi-hp-14-pwm

Best SP FAN: HP-14 PWM

1500 RPM

Max. static pressure: 1,94mm H₂O

The Noctuas does this static pressure @~1000RPM. While these fans would have to run at their max. 1400/1500 RPM to scratch the performance of the noctuas, and the noctuas still have 1000RPM room to get higher to a max of 4.00+mm H₂O. I personally doubt that the Venturi Series fan is quieter at max speeds then the noctua on 1000RPM.

After Overclocking, Benchmarking and Gaming with the noctua's i dont see any reason to go above 1000RPM. I mostly let them run in idle at around 700RPM. While gaming they are in between 800/900 rpm on my H110i GTX, cooling my CPU to 40°C-45°C (about 25°C ambient). @4,5GHZ it reached a maximum of 50°C. (1.32volt vcore) while gaming and streaming to twitch with medium encoding. Im very pleased with this.
