Hi,

So i recently bought the new RX480 and i wanted to ask if someone could suggest a compatible, closed system, GPU-only Watercooling solution i could use to get my Temps down a bit while gaming so i dont have to deal with thermal throttle and play w/o having to listen to a hairdryer.

Ive seen a GPU only solution for an R9 290 available for a good price and i wonder if that one might do the trick for me...

Really hope you guys can help me out!

Thanks in advance,

SonoftheStars

it would since the 480 has the same screw spacing as the 380x, but a lower z height. that means youll need to find a copper shim

If you're looking for a little more comprehensive solution the EK Predator series would work well. The only downside is that it does include a CPU block with it as well but maybe you can take a look. The Predator series and then order the block for the RX480 and choose the prefilled option so it comes with the coolant already inside.

  • 3 weeks later...

I just got my xfx rx 480 OC Black today, i went about 3 minutes before i took iaprat and mounted the g10 bracket from my 380 on it, it fits perfect, althoug the vrm are placed on the other side of the chip, you will need an extra cooling fan.  I solved it by placing a  120 mm fan on top of my psu with four screws just barely screwed so it vil be some airflow under the fan. Checked the temps after 2 hours benchmark and the highest temp i got on the card was 68 degrees and that was with the both cooler fans on 75%. Im using an intel ts13x cooler with it, and since i got two 140mm fans with my nepton 240m i added one of the coolermaster fans to make a push-pull for GPU cooler. Works perfect, finally got something useful to us my 5.25 bays for :P
