ATI Radeon HD 5450 Windows 10 compatible?

So I have an old PC running Windows XP, I'd like to upgrade it to Windows 10. So before I do anything, is the ATI Radeon HD 5450 compatible with Windows 10 and where should I get the drivers from?

assume its not until proven other wise ;P is the Microsoft way of doing things (its not officially windows 10 supported) 

 

It will probably work though 

 

them amd website is where you should be looking for your answer though

My old PC has that same card and it works fine on Windows 10. It's running with the beta Crimson drivers, which is the latest version released for that card.

Yes, I have one as a tester. if a card has drivers that support a OS it will work on that OS.

So I used the Crimson beta drivers, but my resolution isn't that good. It used to be better in XP. Any suggestions?

Is it not possible to adjust your resolution in Windows?

Yes, it's max resulution is 1600x1200 and whenever I try to install the drivers the windows just disappears...

Yes, after the installation window closes I can't open the AMD Settings app. I have to restart the PC and then it will open

Can you set the resolution inside of Radeon Settings? It's in Preferences > Additional settings

Okay so that worked, but it still won't update... Any suggestions to that?

 

I have 4 boxes: Currently installed, New, New and Check for Updates. The first "New" box has (WHQL) at the end an the other one has (Beta)

yes the HD 5000 series is compatible with Windows 10, it's latest and final driver release is Crimson Edition 16.2.1 Beta:

It's won't update because the HD 5xxx series is no longer supported, the last driver for the 5xxx series was the Crimson Edition 16.2.1 Beta however it still detects newer drivers and tells you to update, I think there is a way to turn off the update notification though. http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy3&os=Windows 10 - 64

 

P.S. although it's a beta it works without a problem.
