Tom Clancy dies aged 66.

Author Tom Clancy has passed away in Baltimore hospital after a brief illness.
 
Clancy is well known for his espionage and military novels mostly set during and after the Cold War.
His books where also used as scripts for movies like The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, and The Sum of All Fears.

Clancy's novels also heavily influenced game series such as Rainbow Six, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell.
