Loads of new AMD tech

That's not how memory compression works AFAIK... It's less about what games they tested it on and more about what they did to make those improvements. NDA hasn't even expired, they're not going to tell us. Somebody leaked those slides, and WhyCry chose to leave that somebody anonymous.

The point of my argument was I was calling them out like I would to Nvidia for cherry picking those numbers.

If you want to know how I would define memory compression, here it goes:

Memory compression (like normal data compression) is a memory management technique used to reduce the size or number of paging requests to and from the auxiliary storage. This is applicable to GPUs as they need to rapidly make those requests for things like audio and texture files so as to reduce load times and render times for an optimal playing experience.

Because A) a lot of them 3rd party boards don't exactly look super sexy

B) Because the 1070 FE should have been the regular 1070 for $379 instead of the BS we have.

Hey, I know Nvidia pulled some serious shenanigans by saying a MSRP and not actually delivering on it.

But don't hurt yourself to spite them. If you're willing to call out a company on their bullshit and vote with your wallet, you're going to have to settle with not-the-best, and you know what, that's fine. Fuck having the best whatever. I'd rather give my money to a company that's honest and straight up. Neither GPU vendor is that though.

I knew I did when I made that comment. Do you think your point is still relevant in my initial accusations against AMD because they're not presenting which games they tested the RX 480 on? No because that's irrelevant.

I don't expect you to change your mind. An acknowledgement would be appreciated.

Yeah, sure, let me take a look at your argument against AMD.

It boils down to something as simple as that AMD can not afford to make claims they can not back up, like a claim that they can provide a VR ready experience for everybody. I should also mention that VR ready does not simply mean "hey, you can run a game! not well, but you can run it!" AMD doesn't have the kind of fallback that larger companies like nVidia does, so outright lying about something or omitting huge details is not a plausible course of action. A lot of the things they say are fairly sincere and accurate because they need to be.

In general I don't think your argument has any merit, at least not regarding that example.

It may not have any merit. But I would do the very same towards Nvidia when (not if) they pull the same shit that AMD is pulling later on down the line. Regardless of how big or small, if they can do it, why the hell not? I will still spite Intel, AMD, and Nvidia because they're not straight up and honest, and they don't say it for what it is. I wish it was different, but hey they are who they are, and if they were to change, we have to change first.

My two cents: Just look towards third parties (the trustworthy, like OC3D and not WCCFTech) for real-world benchmarks to see if their claims holds true, because sure as hell Nvidia's claims were damn near debunked to smithereens when the reviewers benched the single GTX 1080 against two 980s in SLI and one Titan X in gaming performance to see if Jen-Hsun Huang's claims were true, because boy were they close together to that one 1080.

They aren't sold out in France, we don't have some except on Amazon for now :(

That's the whole default of AMD campaign. They should have let retailers put pages for the product with all the same infos, and without the price, so that we can know they'll sell some someday :)

AFAIK releases are supposed to happen at the same time, not depending on the timezone...

This should not have happened anyways at amazon.com.

Anyways, they're not sold out everywhere...

embargo is 9AM eastern, so probably a good indicator of when the reviews go up, and online stores start selling.

Although reviews are already up so nevermind lol.

No I am not and I did not contradict myself.

When I said 40-70% I was leaning more towards 70%. The 40% was an absolute minimum.

I would not buy a 1070 unless it was FE and guess what. That costs $450.......

FE do not overclock any better than the regular AIB cards, so why? EK and AquaComputer have both released full card blocks for multiple AIB models too.
