Galaxy Note 4 vs S7/s7 edge

So the s7 edge has a back camera that has 12 MP while the Note 4 has a back camera 16 MP. How is the S7 be called the "best camera smartphone," when there is a 4 MP difference?

Megapixels aren't everything.

Yup, Megapixels arent everything. Of course, more MP "can" be "sharper".

But it also comes with differences.

The 12 MP isnt just less. It's less pxiel, but BIGGER ones. The Pixel Size is 1.4 µm² (instead 1.12 µm²). This is exactly 56% more Area. Bigger Pixels can "see" more Light --> Better for Low Light, or when it's not the brightest day. You should've noticed, if you take a picture after Sunset, or indoors, the Picture quality gets "grainy", and "noisy".

The bigger Pixels are less noisy here.

In Addition, it has a newer sensor, that might have less Pixel bleed (when the Light from one Pixel "shines" to the next one through the edges, which can also worse the picture quality).

And the Aperture is wider. Instead of f/2.2, it*s f/1.7. I don't know the exact calculation, but it should let like 50-100% more Light in.

Remember, there are high quality DSLR Cameras, that "only" have like 12-14 MP, but the Picture quality is WORLD better, than Any smartphone camera will ever be.

Less during Daylight, but much more during Low Light.
