I just put a new cooler in rig, I didn't use Isopropyl alcohol or anything to clean the old stick cpu thermalpaste off, I just used a tissue? i heard lint comes off tissue? what can it do? burn? make my cpu hotter? damage anything?

If you have enough thermal paste I would do it again.  If you don't have a lint free cloth the next best thing is coffee filter paper. Make sure the final wipe is from on side of the IHS to the opposite in one swoop as it tends to leave no particles behind.

Edit - i just reread the op. I wouldn't run it until you get isopropyl alcohol to properly clean the IHS and cooler.

Not cleaning it properly and leaving behind small particles will only cause a slight difference but nothing to be afraid of.

Isopropyl can be found in pretty much any grocery store for the price of a cheap candy bar.

its running, i dont know were to buy isopropyl alcohol... what could happen if i didnt clean it properly? @CthulDude

Like ttam said, it's not dire, but then it's also not correct. Particles will cause uneven contact and air pockets which will impair the heat transfer from the cpu to cooler..

ok but it wont burn or damage the heatsink / cooler / fan / system / cpu etc?

@CthulDude

@ttam

It's metal on metal so very little can really happen to it. Just when you get a chance, just take the 10 minutes and re-do everything just to be safe.

@ttam how close in mm does the heatsink touch the cpu?

This would be dependent on the TIM used. Some TIMs are very thick and some are thin. I don't think you need to worry too much but next time you remove your cooler make sure to have some 99% isopropyl  alcohol and some lint free bounty and make sure you clean your cooler and CPU properly.
