APU + GPU Crossfire or CPU + (higher) GPU?

What is Faster APU+GPU or CPU+GPU (the closest possible perfomance match on CPU and GPU to be right above like 470 with APU and 480 with CPU)?

 

For 1080p 60fps Gaming and 1080 Video Editing.

For Gaming and Video Editing.

APU crossfire with compatible GPUs are limited to low-end GPU;

CPU's are faster than APU's

APU's are designed for low end budget gaming only, and if you use an APU with a crossfire setup, it only works with other low end GPUs.  Think of it this way - you just can't fit a lot of CPU and GPU cores onto a single chip.  

 

For 1080p 60 fps gaming, you want a high performing discreet GPU such as RX 480, paired with a good CPU.

It isn't actually crossfire it is what amd calls dual graphics which works with any program, but it is limited to only certain combinations of apus and gpus such as the a10 7850k and  r7 240/250.

 

But if you are getting a dgpu anyway an apu is will just be more money for less performance.

It actually is, AMD calls it "dual-graphics" but it's actually Crossfire. If you look it up, CCC and Crimson don't differentiate between them and will call both Crossfire, and so does AMD website FAQ. They just renamed it to seperate dual discreet GPU scalable link interface and APU+ discreet GPU scalable link interface.

 

In the end, weither you call it that or not, it's AMD's Crossfire technology.

Crossfire is not a nightmare as some claim.  I have had zero issues with it in a  wide variety of games.
