Good Story games.

Hello guys! I want to get a new game currently bored with the games I've got,  the game(s) should have a good story + plus is should long (more than 5 hours)

Dragon Age Inquisition + DLC (100 hours)
Dark Souls (40-50 hours)
Legend of Grimrock 2 (20-30 hours)
Heroes of Might & Magic V (total of around 40 hours)
Divinity Original Sin (30-40 hours)

Not for me. I enjoyed 1 the most. 2 was still good, and 3..well..lets not talk about 3.

2+3 formed a more cohesive story (minus the ending of 3) than 1 could ever.

Mass Effect Trilogy - each about 40ish hours on my playthrough. Each game is excellent from a story standpoint, and I modded the ending of the third.

 

Witcher 2 & 3 - Witcher 1 is a very difficult game to enjoy, so I recommend watching a quick lets play of it to get the jist of some of the character backstories. Playing/watching the first two games really helps make the third feel important.

 

The Metal Gear series - Only MGS4 can't be reliably emulated on PC, but they're worth a go if you've never gone through the series.

Since Dark Souls came up, I will throw out a caveat: you can play Dark Souls games for their story, and it's great, but just don't expect them to tell you a story in the traditional sense. You will have to piece together the story for yourself, which is cool in its own right. But it just doesn't work the way you may expect. It's extremely abstract.

 

I finished The Witcher 3 and both expansions at 225 hours, and I'm still planning to do New Game+ at some point. I feel like TW3 gets recommended in every thread, but if you want a story-focused game with hundreds of hours of quality gameplay, it's a perfect fit.

Not for me. 1 was msytic and exciting. Again, 2 was ok and 3 good at the start, became an unlogical plot hole disaster.

Alan Wake (10-12 hours) - If you like Stephen King and such it's a great story
