Corsiar AF LED fans vs Coolermaster sickle flow

TheMidnightNarwhal

So I can either get a pair of Corsair 120MM Quiet Ed Red Leds fans for 30$ CAD or 2 Coolermaster 120mm red led sickle flows for 13.98$ CAD.

Now I want to get the Coolermasters but how do the LED look? Are they acceptably bright or I shouldn't bother.

Corsair's LED fans are awful. Go for the CMs.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

Or get the non-LED AF120s which aren't so bad

Why are they awful? I currently have the non LEDs one and they're great.

I see more and more posts about the CM ones being so dimm.

I have the LED AF120s in my build. They have worse build quality and they're louder because they don't have any noise dampening structure to them.

Also, it's easy to strip the screws that come with them. And they're not PWM.

What do you mean build quality? I'm sure the build quality is the same ones to the non LEDs, and it's plastic, like any other fan, right?

Noise dampening, the non LED don't really have that, only have rubber gromets for the screws and the CM don't have them.

I don't need PWM, I can control 3 pin fans with my board.

If then CM or Corsair are not good, beacuse they both don't have sound dampening, what is good for red LED fans?

That's what I meant. The frame and mounting mechanism is not stellar.

Yes, but the CM don't have that either, right?

So if both are bad, any other ideas for LED fans? I don't want pure silence. My PC is pretty loud right now and I don't mind. All my fans run 100% and my GPU 85%.

I'd just take the Sickleflows since they're cheaper

They're not the same and the led ones are significantly worse. It's not just the frame.

Sickleflows aren't good either.

If you don't care about noise and are getting them for the looks, just get whatever looks best to you.

Jetflos and Gelid Wings are better than either if you dig the look.

Get something that has a colored fan not literraly a LED in it , id go for the sickflows never been a big fan of Corsair AF's since for me they are too bright and if you want your case to look like it has a big red sunburn go for Corsair , if you want stealth looks go for Sickflows but remember there are better options...

edit : The Sickflows operate at higher RPM at lower sounds while the AF's operate at lower RPM at louder sound

When life gives you drugs you sell them for a living.

These should be good as per WoodenMarker's recommendation.

Aerocool DS

Use the low noise cable and the main thing you'll hear off of them is airflow.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.
