So last night I was on the internet as usual and I noticed that with the most recent Chrome update Google implemented talk to search feature on Chrome. At first I thought it was just a cool new add on and then I realized that Google recently was involved with a phone that has the always listening feature, the Moto X. I thought what if they implemented that into Chrome(insert mind-plosion here) then I remembered that they were working on other OS's and though about them integrating it there(insert second mind-plosion here).

So what do you guys think? How much longer until Skynet, urr I mean Google claims its supremacy?

For those of you that went TL;DR, Google implemented a speak and search feature into Chrome, what if they did that to everything they could.

Google can't claim supremacy because then M3 will detonate the endless amounts of C4 they have been putting in all there products. M3 owns everyone. Its actually a little known fact that they created Linus.

Don't fight it.

I'm not going to try, I know how these things go. I mean it could be worse, we could be talking about something less entertaining.

This would be funny to do if you hacked somebody's Twitter account and linked the two. You could have all the fun!

How are they amazing?  I've been using software using speech to initiate actions and macros for years.  The whole talk to your computer thing isn't exactly new.

Well this is the first time it could be pushed by a big company like Google. It could become something everybody could do with little to no effort.

Which is what I already said, people have already been doing it with little to no effort.

And this isn't the first time it's been pushed by a big company, it's just the first time you have heard it being pushed by a big company.

Seriously?!?!  Microsoft for one, my buddy is blind and for God knows how long he's been talking to his computer and it talks back.

Nuance, Beyond Verbal, MacSpeech (Apple), Highbridge, SRC, iVoice, A1, Beatnik, Blaze, and Bose just to name a few.  Every major OS has it's own voice recognition and I know that the military and DoD uses Microsoft's voice recognition all the time (I've even used it for mapping and telling the computer to commit actions through my earpiece while I was in a couple misc countries while I was in the Army, which was as far back as 7 years ago)

And btw, with Google, I've had talk to search for at least the last year and a half (I know because I had it on my S3 which I haven't had for months and I had the S3 for at least a year or two).  You probably just didn't know how to use it when it first came out.

Well, it hasn't really been pushed all that much (as far is i know),

It's integrated with the OS.  I've seen it used by (as I said before) everything from Government entities to blind people.  They don't need to "push" it because they make more than enough in sales already to simply market the product as a whole in another venue, then have that added as "value" that's just a part of the product.

Please refer to this post where I talk about motivations behind innovation and technological advancements (which explains the complete lack of marketing Window's as an accessibility product).

The examples I gave are for the PC, NOT phones.  I have no idea what the Window's phone does.  Please notice where I said TALKED TO A COMPUTER.

As for when I was in the military, my earpiece used a bluetooth connection to a laptop.  Which btw, while portable, is a PC not a phone.

Imo it's actually really scary to see what companies like Google have on your computer. Perhaps they are watching your every move with that lovely webcam you have up there. Listening to your every breath...

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?
