The G35 is a pretty good headset. If you have a sound card then I would recommend getting a different headset so you can take advantage of your sound card. But if you are planning to just use the built in sound card on your motherboard then the G35 would be fine.

I going to order a Logitech g35 next week.

Or should i pick an other headset in that pricerange ?

That headset is decent enough but i wouldn't spend more than that on a gaming headset. If you want to go for headphones Pioneer SE-A1000 and Zalman clip on mic, also it's cheaper.  :o

I would say to that to get a pair of Audio Technica ATH M40s and a Zalman Clip-on Mic.

but what about the 7.1 surround sound ?

empty artificial reverb it just simulates being in a larger room than you are

example:  cup your hands and put them on your ears. that echoeyness you are hearing is basically what the virtualizers sound like.

HRTF sound in relation to your head is already encoded into the game. get better headphones to get a better HRTF experience

I have the Cyborg FREQ 5. It's a great headset both for gaming and enjoying music. I tried to add a virtual 7.1 surround sound effect through my Crative Supreme FXII onboard audio and it was terrible. Just by a nice headset and don't worry about surround sound and other nonsense like that.
