It's basically the same but you can use more than 4gb of ram. When you download programs, download the x64 version.

I just switched from 32 bit to 64 bit windows. is it same as 32 bit? what notes should i take? any tips?

One of the few differences on the surface is the increase in RAM overhead from 4 to 16GB.

Pretty much the same, as Nicholas says make sure to download the x64 version of programs if one is available (sadly that's still a rarity).

32 Bit programs will work. Just that the 64 bit can take advantage of ram etc

there used to be issues with software only working on 32 bit but that was like 4 years ago or something. today everything works with 64 bit OS
 

also the ability to use more then 4gb of ram.

 

If you're building a new PC, go for 64bit OS

yeah, its been a while. I got busy at school. Hindi na ko gumagamit ng PC masyado since then.

i am always busy at school but i always find time for my PC everyday. we need PCs for our homeworks. and english please. haha :)

i mean i still use my pc every day but it always has something to do with school and I play dota 2 from time to time with my friends.

More than memory is affected by the bit version of your OS.  

 

- If it is 64 bit, you must have all digitally signed drivers.  This maintains security through making sure non-signed drivers cannot hijack or affect the system, on the down side this means that any custom designed drivers to handle off the wall issues will be rejected in the 64 bit version that you may have been able to use in the 32.  

- Data execution in 32 bit systems is software protected while the 64 bit is hardware protected (This makes it MUCH harder for programs to circumvent security and embed itself in layers it doesn't belong in).  

- Kernal Patch Protection was implemented with 64 bit systems

- 64 bit Home Premium allows 16 GB RAM, everything above that is 128 GB or more

- Amount of RAM Required was doubled from 512 MB to 1 GB

Nope, you can't run 16-bit programs on 64-bit Windows, you need a 32-bit version for that.

I ment that almost everything has a 32 and a 64 bit version, I just had a poor choice of words.
