In my opinion I'm alright with micro USB charging on mobile phones, I've never had one brake on me but I know some people do not like them and if I'm not mistaken Linus is one of these people and he has very good reasons why he hates it.

I don't mind micro USB, and it's nice that they standardized it in my opinion, you wont get any companies that make a special cable for their phones anymore. I'm totally for this.

I don't see why a standard USB can't be implimented. My tablet uses a mini-b USB connector which isn't as bad micro usb, but still is annoying because of how fragile such a small connector is if it's even strained. I've had to replace multiple phone chargers on the otherhand..I hate those things.

Standard USB-A is bigger than most devices by now. Also USB A to USB A is not specified.
