Hey folks im just curious as the amd RX480 comes out soon im wondering if the amd 6300 will bottleneck the rx480 not putting too much demand on cpu rather than playing WoW-Legion. so ya any info/points/brainstorming is COOL!

Probably. As it stands, with a 6300 you shouldn't use anything over an R9 280, or an R9 285/280X/GTX 960 at a stretch.

wow is not very cpu dependant, but thanks bud this much i know lol and im running a 650ti boost from asus 2gb version amd 6300 OC'd at 4.6ghz with evo 212

wont be upgrading cpu until zen is released.

most of the moba type games like that are more CPU than GPU intensive, but it still might bottleneck at that level.

All MMOs are CPU intensive, until dx12 MMOs becomes a thing. If you want better performance in WoW, get an i5 6500 + h110 motherboard.

umm he said he will be upgrading to ZEN,

Look OP, you asked if your CPU will bottleneck a 480, it will bottleneck it, just not massively. your CPU is waaay good enough to be playing those games and there won't be much issue

will never go intel! dont even recommend it.

Then don't bother asking for recommendations, because moving to Intel is the only thing you can do to improve performance. The RX 480, if performance claims are true, will bottleneck. No amount of cores or overclocking will help you unless you move to Intel, or wait for Zen to launch (again, if performance claims are true).

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

RX 480 benchmarks so far show that it should be able to beat the 950/60. I must stress that these are not confirmed, aside from that, a secondhand 960 will cost you more than a new 480.

I am going to be getting a 480 and a zen spu when they come to AUS

thanks sloth much appreaciated but i know it will cost me more to buy the 950/60 but im thinking since wow isnt that gpu intensive and i wont be using VR the 950/60 maxwell arch runs really well on my buddies custom build so for a run-a-round mickeymouse thingy  would the compared to what im using now "asus 650ti boost 2gb" to a 950/rx480 would be a hell of an increase no matter what but ya 950 is really all i would need?

I would still go with the 480, newer architecture means better support and the 480 will be future-proofing your system somewhat also. Historically AMD runs hotter than Nvidia or Intel but with custom coolers and efficient cards like the 480 I doubt that is still a problem. If a 480 is cheaper and better I see no reason not to get it.

Also, if you ever decide to start playing FPS games you will immediately notice the fps difference between the cards.

I have always been an AMD cpu NVidia graphics guy  but until ZEN I really think AMD graphics and intel CPU is what needs to be done.

That being said, ZEN should beat the pants off Intel in price/performance and I can't wait to upgrade to it
