i5 1070 bottleneck

not in the slightest, the only way it would bottleneck (maybe) if you were to do unsupported 4-way SLI of 1070s

Probbably just 2 way SLI would bottleneck in some games if those are bad optimised.

But in general it will be just fine.

No lmao, in gaming 2-way SLI will be bottlenecked somewhat bad and in CPU intensive games even 1 can bottleneck.

Some CPU bound games may cause a bottleneck but I wouldn't expect a big problem.

I mean yeah, running a 1070 at 1080p you're either going to get limited by your cpu or your monitor. With that said, I'll probably end up buying a 1070 too and my cpu is only a little stronger than yours for gaming (Xeon E3-1231v3).

Why not OC your 4690k though if you have it on a Z97 board? You should at least be able to get another 600 MHz or so, and it helps in cpu bound games.

Even if you find a 1080p resolution is getting limited usage (while seeing 100+ fps anyway) then you can always up the resolution with DSR (if you MUST HAVE 99-100% GPU usage)

 

Plus the fact some games are made like shit... bad ports screw everyone, but good ports,... doubt you'll see a problem at all.

There isn't a yes or no answer to this. Bottlenecking will all depend on the game, the graphical settings, and the FPS you want. Bottlenecking is not a black and white thing like everyone makes it out to be.
