I understand that robotics could technically be placed under another forum but having its own would lead to far more traction & allow people to obtain an answer or information far quicker than they would otherwise.

 

It would also provide a place for said community to have a consistent discussion on the specific topic, even adding more of a "library" of information in one area, rather than having ideas on the matter spread about.

We do have a hobby electronics section which would encompass part of that. :)

This forum is less technical than something like that. For most in here, robotics are cool part of sci-fi games.

I think the other guys already nailed it; there wouldn't be enough content.  Just look at the "Hobby Electronics" subforum that would encompass robotics, and already is rather under utilized with just over 3000 posts.  Most have tens or even hundreds of thousands.

Mentor/Alumni as well and I have to agree, even for general robotics or even hobby electronics there isn't a whole lot.
