To the OP though may also wait for the AMD 480 and run it in crossfire for 400 usd...

That is a fair point, So far in the game the 480 cards look EXTREMELY compelling for the price. I might go over to the red side myself :o

I once explained to my girlfriend what true love is. I said, "If you were a shit, I'd put you back in" and to this day, she is still my little shit.

I've had some very, very bad experiences with AMD cards. Bought a Sapphire Vapor-X R9 290 new on black friday sale last year for cheap, and it kept cutting out, causing black screens, running EXTREMELY hot, I had to run the fans at a stupid speed constantly to get it to work, and even at that...

It eventually broke. So I went for the 960 instead.

It's high noon somewhere in the world.

simple solution, buy the 970 for £90, sell it for £170-£190, buy a 1070.

Dude... buy that 970 at that price PERIOD.... sell it for nearly 2x the amount easy.

On ebay they go for $200-250 and you can get it for $130 US.... buy it and simply sell it... then sell your 960, then buy the 1070 or RX 480.  All card beat the 960 hands down.

Even if you keep the 970 until the 1070 comes out....you'd enjoy the 1070 because it's literally 2x better than the 970.
