whats the difference between the google card board and htc vive? i dont have the money for vr but steam says my pc is vr ready so im wondering

Google cardboard is literally cardbard (and lenses) that lets you mount you phone to your face.  The Vive is really 1 of 2 world-leading VR headsets that lets you experience (once more exist) AAA titles in complete immersion.  It's kind of like comparing a Prius with a Ferrari... they'll both get you there, but...

I have owned both card board and a Vive. The card board made me sick when I started to walk around but it is meant for a seated experiance. Anyways the refresh rate and res made it hard to use for long periods of time. When you moved your head fast the flicker really was bad. The vive is light years better but not perfect. Only things I want better is higher res and haptic gloves instead of controllers. Other then that I got pretty scared and paranoid playing just the Lab by valve. There is a part where you can go into a hut from Dota and there was this dragon. It is on a shelve and when you get near it the head moves and I screamed so loud. Tracking is 1:1 and it just feels nice, except that cable. It tripped me way too much.
