I was wondering if I could get the upcoming 1070 with my old ass rig because for some of the new game that I have purchased are very hard to handle on my PC. I am not much of a computer guy but i know that if I get the 1070 that I will need to get a new power supply maybe I think. I also don't even know if the 1070 would be able to fit in my PC. I will attach some gyazo's showing the system info. And if you want to mention anything extra don't mind sharing :D.

This is the_ender_sheep (lol made that account when I liked Minecraft). Anyway, as long as your motherboard can accept the 1070 I see no problem.

Your i7-3770 should handle a 1070 fine, the i7-3770 is still a really nice gaming processor despite being about 4 years old. As long as your power supply is say 500W or more. Dell computers usually come with Delta power supplies, which are pretty nice quality.

This pc was bought in 2012 so idk if it was as good as it is now. Any way i could find the watts of the power supply any other way than opening it?

Open the case and take a pic of the sticker on the side of the power supply.

@App4that is right, that looks like a real garbage power supply. A Seasonic S12II 520W or Seasonic S12II 620W would be perfect as long as your computer uses standard 24 pin power and not some proprietary crap. But it doesn't have 8-pin PCIE (only two 6-pin).

If you can afford it, I'd upgrade to a 1070 if youre on anything older than a 970.

If you have a 970 or better, I'd wait for AMDs new cards first, or just wait till volta.

AMD has nothing that's going to compete with the 1070. Their Computex presentation showed pretty much nothing about Polaris 10 performance and they're pulling a Ubisoft by not allowing reviews until launch day. I don't think AMD is very proud of Polaris 10.

But polaris will be cheaper and maybe better price / performance.

If they weren't embarrassed by Polaris they would have given details about it. Instead they had two just barely edging out a 1080 in the absolute most favorable circumstance, Ashes of the Singularity. And if you watched the presentation it looked like the 1080 was running the game at higher settings than the dual RX 480 8GB were. The only logical explanation is that Polaris 10 is a disappointment and the $200 price tag is there because they wouldn't sell any at a higher price.

CPU should be fine, it may bottleneck slightly but a bit of an overclock should do the trick. I'd so go for it after seeing what AMD has to offer.
