gtx 1080 on sli or water kit

idkwamp

hello guys

im learnig every time more about doing overclock on gpu  im trying to by one of those asus 1080 strix i have the chance to sell my 980 ti hybrid and my confusion is to see what is better for me to build 1 gtx 1080 whit custom water-cool or 2 asus 1080 strix on sli i trying to get pros and cons of it

as a quick note i try to do sli on the 980 ti and my biggest problem was the heat generated on 1 of the cards example top 92' and the bottom 80' and every time i try to over clock just tiny bit my pc shuts off my power supply is a 1000 wts (non 980 ti hybrids)

because of that is my indecision of what is best water-cool overclocked or 2 sli whit mild overclock???

sorry for my poor English

You'll get more raw performance from 2x GTX1080s than from a single 1080 with a custom watercooling loop. However you will get better thermals/acoustics from a custom loop. Do you REALLY need the performance of 2x GTX1080s or can a single card suffice and then you spend the rest of your money on watercooling or SSDs or similar.

NCASE M1 i5-9600k  GTX 1080 FE Z370N-WIFI SF600 NH-U9S LPX 32GB 960EVO
