I'm planing to make a pc ad I asked for suggestions on a build and often I get suggested $250-$350AUD GPU's and my budget is $1000. How come? what about just using a $80 one. Is a $300AUD GPU required so much?

What are you doing on this computer?

For gaming, a good graphics card is the most important part of the computer.

What's the point of your 500$ worth CPU if you have 80$ worth GPU.

For gaming you need to buy decent GPU or you will have lagg in games and FPS spikes.

It depends on the games you're planning to play and at what resolution/detail/framerate.

Very rougly speaking:

1080p resolution 60Hz >=200US$ GPU

If you plan on playing on higher resolutions you spend more on your GPU but only if you Monitor can support it.

Wait, you're saying too much now.

What resolution  will you game at? Is that 1000 AUD GPU only budget? Are you sure those people mean 250-350 AUD or USD?
