I have these 2 GTX 970's

Zotac

EVGA

I have them connected with this SLI Bridge

SLI Bridge

This is my motherboard

Motherboard

They are detected in windows and everything and I get the option to use 1 for dedicated PhysX and all. All my drivers are updated but I don't get the option for SLI. I made sure they're seated and hooked up correctly.

1 card is in a x16 slot and the other one is in a x4 slot due to space limitations. I'd have them both in a x16 slot but the bridge won't fit that way. Are the slots the issue?

According to NVIDIA, the only AM3+ board from Gigabyte that officially supports SLI is the GA-970 (http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/sli/motherboards?field_manufacturer_value=GIGABYTE&field_socket_type_value=AM3%2B&field_sli_support_value=All)

So it could be your motherboard simply doesn't support it.

EDIT: Have you tried a BIOS update?

Nvidia isn't going to verify every board that supports it or not. 990FX is superior to the 970.

You need to plug them into the correct slots, the ones that actually runs at x16. Not the x4s.

It says it's supported on the box and on the link I included....

SLI requires a minimum of an x8 speed slot. Crossfire is the only technology that can run at speeds as low as x4.
