So I just built my new PC, everything seemed to go smooth, no failed boots or anything but suddenly I went on a flash game site to try and play a game and the entire system froze, I couldn't control alt delete or anything. I rebooted the system to find that my monitor couldn't find the pc, I rechecked my hdmi cable and everything is fine, so I held down the power button and killed the PC, on reboot it did windows updates, could this have been the freeze? Windows not being updated? Also wanted to mention when I boot my PC it stays at the mother board logo with the F# options for a long time before loading windows, is this normal? Was I supposed to take the boot menu OFF my usb after installing windows? Maybe its still trying to boot from it? And another issue I'm having is drivers, I went to my mobos website and tried to get the drivers but all the links don't work. I have the H110M-A by gigabyte/ultra durable

Flash your BIOS. This can be done either by entering the BIOS and resetting it to factory setting, using the jumper on your motherboard, or momentarily removing the CMOS battery.

Do you have a backup of all your data? You might have to do a fresh install of Windows onto new boot media, or format your old drive to use it.

Yeah, so you don't stand to lose much. Flash your BIOS, install Windows again. Your hard drive will be formatted during the Windows installation anyway.

You know, you don't have a lot to whine about. People have lost terabytes worth of data because their Windows install broke and they didn't have backups of everything. You, on the other hand, don't have much to lose.

Furthermore, are you using a legitimate copy of Windows? I can't say for sure what the effects of a pirated copy and an activator are, but I do know that every single installation of Windows at my high school was pirated, and I don't think they ever had a single computer where the operating system worked consistently.

I used the windows 10 media installer off their website to my USB, chose pro, and used a key I bought for 20$ off ebay. And I wasn't really whining, just annoyed, sure other's lost a ton of data well I feel bad for them I do but I'm allowed to be annoyed am I not?

Of course you're allowed to be annoyed, but it isn't going to help you a great deal. Flashing your BIOS and installing Windows again, on the other hand, will probably solve your problem.

Just to be safe, use a different USB drive this time. It's highly improbably but still possible that the installation media on your bootable USB drive isn't functioning as intended.

It's just a pen drive. If you don't have a regular USB 2.0 drive lying around, an 8GB drive won't set you back that much.

Also, if you have a USB DVD drive, you can write the windows installer to a DVD. That's what I did.

Strange, now I'm getting a similar but different error.

Try to use the download center: http://download.gigabyte.com.tw/

I had to click on the blue link to get it to download.

Edit:

I managed to get them to work by clicking on the Asia link.

Will using the asia link effect me or does it just mean its downloading from an asian server? Sorry I don't know this shit, its literally my first build.

Correct, it's just the server you're downloading from and won't impact the driver or anything.

You can just download it and run the .exe included in the zip folder, after extracting from the zip first. Try to download from here:

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5589#bios

The F4 version is probably what he was trying to open up and run the updater for but you should be able to download the F5 version just the same and run that one.

I get the same error I told you earlier, that was the one he was trying to get me to grab and it says my pc can't run it.

Edit : Well technically windows is telling me it can't run it.

Hmmm, I would try to update the drivers first and deal with the BIOS later. The drivers should fix your issues and the BIOS update can be dealt with later.

I did finish them, only ones I haven't done are the 3 sata ones, the 2 bottom are frameworks I've already got, the top didn't have a setup file so I derped and didn't know what to do.

I think that one is for when you're installing windows and the drives are in RAID or AHCI mode. Have you reloaded since installing all the drivers? Are the issues still present?

I also noticed you were leaving the USB with the boot files on them in the PC, yes it will try to boot from the USB first if it's setup to do that in BIOS.

Oh yea I fixed the USB problem, took it out now it boots faster no problemo. As far as all the drivers from what I can tell are all done, did a reboot yes, and yes it still says my pc can't run the file
