All of those PSUs are absurdly overkill for a GTX 970 or a GTX 980. Just get a RM550x (or RM650i if you're deadset on Corsair Link).

You should also be looking at the GTX 1070 and the GTX 1080 rather than Maxwell.

OK but could you give me a reason,

For what? You're not going to get close to needing 750W with either one of those cards under heavy load, let alone 500W. You're honestly throwing away your money here.

Corsair HXi Series, HX850i why not this one?

See above.

See above.

1. Cooler operation

2. Longer life

3. Quieter operation

If the cost isn't significantly more I'd go for the 750i

Technically true (because Platinum vs Gold) but it's a very minor (or not noticeable) difference for all your points above. Not worth it if the cost difference is large.

Remember the RM650i uses the same FDB fan and has that Zero RPM mode.

Under a circumstance I agree.

If the price gap is large. I say 550W (better value, still good quality)

If the price gap is small. 750W (better deal, slightly higher quality)

I think OP is broken guys.

They've posted the same broken English post 3 times in a row now despite nobody speaking to them.

If we acknowledge it will it stop? It's scaring me.

I feel like I'm being passive aggressively told to shut the fuck up because they've made up their mind.

It's a bit wasteful though... You're not going to be needing 750W either way. The quality difference is very minor.
